Hello all, at my workplace sites, we have Eaton PowerWare 9130 700, 1000 & 1500 UPS's and an Eaton 9PX 6000 UPS. I have been trying to figure out the SMTP settings with no luck. We use G-Suite for Education and I've created an account specially for the UPS SMTP Authentication. I have had no luck with getting it to work. Any Suggestions would be great.
Thanks in advance!

Tripp Lite Network Card Users: What would you like to see in our next release?
Our WEBCARDLX network management card platform is getting a major update later this year with PowerAlert Device Manager (PADM) v20.0.
We're revamping the GUI & CLI and making things like auto-probe automatic reboots (which Tim7139 and I discussed here on Spiceworks before) even easier to configure. Obviously, we're excited about what's coming. This PDF provides a good overview of what's to come in PADM v20.0. The upgrade will be a free download so existing WEBCARDLX users will be able to go from current firmware to PADM v20.0.
As there are plenty of users in the community, I'd like to hear from Spiceheads about what they'd like to see in our next release.
If you're an existing user (or potential future user) of the WEBCARDLX or other Tripp Lite network products:

Eaton 9PX 1500RT No Power to Group Outlets
I received a like new UPS from my employer. It was briefly used before being shelved in favor of a higher runtime system as far as they were aware, it functioned fine. I have hooked it up in my home rack, and discovered that while the main 4 outlets work fine, the 4 outlets between groups 1 and 2, appear to be dead. The control panel shows Group 1 and 2 as on. When i connect to the web portal the groups appear to be fine. I put a multimeter to the leads coming off what i assume to be the control board (the circuit board that the power wires come off of for the main outlets, and both groups) and i get a good reading for the main outlets, but nothing for either of the groups. I have tried a Factory reset, and also updating the firmware to the newest version. Are these outlets typically off/disabled by default, and if so, would it not...
High temp notification every week
I have a Smart-UPS X 3000 AP9631 that has the exact same temp and notification settings as the other UPS(both are the same brand). On a specific day, every week, I get a notification email with a high temp warning from just this UPS. It lasts for about 10 minutes. Could the sensor, itself, be faulting? Firmware is current.
5PX 3000 Power issues
I have several 5PX's that are just out of warranty and one of them seems to have failed. It turns on, no errors but now anything plugged into it just power cycles every 3-5 seconds even with the UPS plugged in and not on battery. I've unplugged everything except a monitor at the moment and the power button just flashes every few seconds. Any ideas?
Need a short depth UPS for a Flyer Rack Case
Hey,
I am looking for a short depth 230V UPS that needs to fit into a SKB Flyer Rack Case (1SKB-iSF4U). Depth maximum is 15".
And here comes the tricky part: We are working in motorsport environments and need to take this rack with us on flights all over the world. Therefore the maximum battery capacity of the UPS must not exceed 100 Watt Hours!
The absolute maximum consumption of all components is about 150 watts.
Thanks in advance for any recommendations or ideas!

APC Smart UPS 1500 Battery Disconnect Hot Swap
I have 3 APC 1500's. 2 of them are displaying Battery Disconnect. 1 of the in error units is live in rack and being used. Swapping the battery from the good one to the bad is as simple as slide out bad / slide in good? Is there other typical failures that register battery disconnect error other then a bad battery? I 'm ready to just buy new batteries and be done with it.
NUT on Windows with a very old USHA+ card - snmp-ups driver can't start
I realise this is a fairly niche topic, but perhaps someone can suggest something.
I'm trying to interface with a very old USHA card:
http:/
It's configured to support SNMP v1 via UDP 161 and SNMP support is enabled on the card itself. I'm running NUT on Windows 2016 Server, I've installed the only available Windows binary package 2.6.5-6 from NUT's website and it seems to be running fine. I've followed the manual for configuration but I'm getting stuck pretty much at the very start where the driver is being started, getting the following error:
Command (ran from cmd line with admin rights):
C:\Program Files (x86)\NUT\binupsdrvctl start
Result:
Network UPS Tools - UPS driver controller Windows -v2.6.5-5-7-g72f380c

Eaton Powerware Replace Battery Warning condition exists
We began to receive email and event log showing this message "Replace Battery Warning condition exists" but there is not indication which battery needs replaced. There are no alarms on the unit display. Seems to trigger the message when the ConnectUPS card restarts
Running battery self tests OK and does not trigger message
How do I fix/stop the message? Do I have a failed battery? Previous battery failure told me which bay it was in.
How much VA per seat? electrical design for a new office
I have a new project. One client is moving to a new office. In the new place, they will have 20 users, and each user will have one Dell laptop 7400 (core i7, 32gb ram), one docking station, and 2 monitors (Dell Ultrasharp or Professional 24 inch).
We need to know how much VA or watts we will need for each seat so the electricians can accommodate the electrical installations as required.
Any idea how much VA we need for a seat? 250 is enough? 300? 500?
Any advice will be appreciated!
EATON 5PX 2200RT "Replacement battery alarm" / firmware update
Hello,
(Mine is a problem similar to what other have already posted. TL;DR questions at the end)
I have bought a 5PX 2200 rack mounted UPS in 2011 and it has been going without problem (and an additional EBM since 2013) for all this time in ABM cycling mode.
Now it was apparently time for the batteries to be replaced (which I did for both the UPS and the EBM). Everything works fine, I am getting like-new-runtime on the UPS (tested twice with breakers in front-of the UPS open).
The problem: I have been using it with NUT over USB all the time and NUT even after the replacement still reports ALARM OL RB and "Replace battery!". From what I have gleaned, the UPS needs to be reset in a certain way. I have tried by issuing ups.test.start.quick and ups.test.start.deep command via NUT, but while it executed the test, it did not reset the alarm.

Eaton 5PX3000RT2U on a 15 Amp Breaker
Hi all,
I am sure this question gets asked weekly and I know the correct answer is to never do this but I am in a situation where I am on the fence. I have a small server rack in a home that draws around 9.5 amps at max load. The stack that is powered by its own 15 Amp circuit is as follows:
- Ubiquiti UDM Pro
- Ubiquiti USW-48-Pro-POE (yes I know this switch is overkill)
- 2 * NanoHD
- 1 * FlexHD
- 4 * G3 Pro
- 2 * Flex Mini
- Rpi 4 POE
- Arris SB8200
- Telephone Modem
- Dell Poweredge R510 (Max 370W recoded)
- 2 * AC Infinity AirFrame T7
- 1 * AC Infinity Cloudplate T7-N
- ** Future plans for a Synology **
I have anEaton 5PX3000RT2U that I am looking at using one of those NEMA 5-15P to L5-30R adapters to connect it to the circuit. According to Eaton TS, the5PX3000RT2U only pulls 1.6 Amps after a power outage when it is recharging its batteries. Assuming...
Month long sine wave single phase quality monitor.
Hey Spicers!
I'm trying to find a product that can monitor sine wave quality of single-phase AC power over long periods of up to a month. (A week could work too)
I realize there are handhelds that can do 60 second or so power reports but I need to prove than an anomaly is happening with no way to tell when it is happening.
The ideal device would track sine wave anomalies over a long period of time and either self log the data or have a persistent connection to a computer with software to consume the data.
No internet connection is necessary.
The workflow would look like this:
1. Drop off the device and plug it into an outlet or between a device and the outlet
2. Pick up the device 1 - 4 weeks later\
3. Consume the data and provide a report showing when the power quality was insufficient for network devices.
This is mainly to justify the...
Do i need to buy additional AVR for my Server?
Hello Good day and Good Life!

My question is: Do i need to buy additional AVR for my Server?
Thank you everyone.
Does the Smart UPS soft shutdown the servers and network devices?
Hi there,
Was in discussion to get a UPS setup at our office.
Backup plan with UPS is only to get enough time to soft shutdown of servers and important network devices. We will get UPS with 30 minutes backup setup, by considering all loads from important devices.
If there is any real power failure happens, while we are at work, we get alert or notice and go run to soft shutdown the important servers and network devices, but what if we are on Weekend, where after 30 minutes, UPS will run out of charge and let sudden shutdown of all devices, which is similar to no UPS plan in place.
So looking for UPS option, which really shutdown Windows server and Cisco switches etc. after 10 minutes of power failure. Other than managing power fluctuation problems etc.
Question is, does APC Smart-UPS SRT 3000VA 230V will be able fulfill our requirement?

EATON 5SC Communication Failure
Hello
For some reason there is a communication failure (accoding to IPP), but for some reason I can find the UPS in the discovery tab with a quick scan.
I got this issue after using the test shutdown feature in the interface.
How do I fix this issue?
Detect UPS model
Hi All,
We have several remote clients with server battery backups installed that were not purchased from us. We would like to be able to monitor these units from their servers. Is there any software available that we can install on the server to detect the brand and model so we can install the appropriate software rather than go on multiple sites to determine?
Bluegate ups Model: BG4000 won't tuned-off even after a long press
Bluegate ups Model: BG4000 won't turned off until the battery drained off completely
but once i connected to power source it will start charging but will never tuned off and I have tried all I could. I am scared if it continued like that it might damaged the battery soon. please any help will be appreciated.
APC PCNS for VMware vSphere 7
Are APC planning to write a HTML 5 compatible version of their PCNS product for VMware vSphere 7 as that does not use Flash so the plugin is incompatible
If not, how are others managing controlled shutdowns in the event of a power outage with ESXi 7 hosts using APC products?
Cheers!
