Will my Eaton 5S1500 burn down my house?
I purchased an Eaton 5S1500 about 1 year ago and it has worked well keeping my computer, monitor, dac, and amp, online during short power failures. Recently, one morning when I turned on my computer I began to notice the smell of heated electronics. There was no smoke, but the smell was definitely coming from the UPS. Since then after having examined it I have noticed a major hot spot at the top of the device. Is this something I should be concerned about? It has been about a week and there hasn't been any issue since, but the thought of this thing burning down my house while I am at work has been bothering me.
The UPS typically hovers around 160-200watts, and will reach about 424watts when the PC is under load. It is operating well within its limits from what I understand. One issue the UPS has had since I bought it, that may be worth...

Eaton 5130 shows Master Output Off - Can't turn it on
Hi Guys,
A quick one, I have an Eaton 5130, brand new batteries, and when i hooked it up, the Output and load segments were powered up, i left it overnight to charge the batteries, and now, Master output and load segment are all off, I cannot find how to enable them anywhere. Im using IPM with a USB to the computer. Please help

APC SmartUPS C1000 Error Code when plugged in
When my APC is on in I get a blinking alert light and this error code.

This error is persistent whether it's plugged in, on battery and when power output is off. There's also a slight humming that I've never noticed before within the backup battery.
I could not find this error code in the manual. Anybody know what this means? I'm very hesitant to plug anything into it and have not tried.

APC Personal Edition 3.1.0 sensitivity
Does anyone know if there is a way to change the sensitivity with APC Personal Edition 3.1.0? In 3.0.2 it is there under configuration, but that version is 8 years old.
When we are running on generator, there is more fluctuation than normal. On all our server and network Smart-UPS we have those lowed sensitivity and they are fine. But the workstations have Back-UPS which only work with the Personal Edition software.
UNLESS some one knows a way to change the sensitivity of the Windows 10 OS UPS software.

Reset Password or UPS/ Autopower on
Hi guys,
I forgot the password for my APC Smart UPS 1000-XL. I normally access the UPS features and config via APC Powerchute for Server 2012.
Any ideas on how to reset? Thanks.
Also, I have a question for that same model. Should we have a power outage and the UPS Battery is depleted, would the UPS power on when power returns?
I also have auto power on for server setup when power is restored, but I'm intrested to know what happens when the server is shutdown by Powerchute but the UPS has battery power. When power is restored, does the auto power on feature of the server after power is restored detected by the server to power on itself?

Fan fault 007 doesn't go away (Eaton EX 2200)
Hi there!
We have a UPS Eaton EX 2200. One of the fans died, so the UPS lit an error light and said Internal Fault Serv Required (Fan Fault 007). I ordered exactly the same fan (ME80251VX-Q060-F99). It took quite some time for fan to arrive, so after the fan replacement I also changed the batteries (it needed to be done soon anyway). But the error light is still on. I tried to discharge the batteries, then charge them again (it took four days overall). No use, the error is still there. And it's still Fan Fault 007.
Any idea how to solve this? Maybe there is a way to clear the errors?

What is your power situation for your data center
Our data center/server room has two different utility sources, same utility company, but our building is big enough that we have power coming into the building from both the north & south ends and the two circuits are independent of each other. The south end feeds most of the building, except the far north end and is covered by a whole building generator. The north end source, has a small 30Kva generator that feeds the IT offices and a second circuit for the server room. Behind each server rack we have two 20A circuits, left is whole building circuit, right is IT circuit. In the bottom of each rack, we have a single UPS 2000va that connects to the IT circuit PDU. Powerware 9120 UPS won't start
Hi,
I have an old UPS, Powerware 9120. I decided to replace its fan with a temperature controlled one (Arctic F8 TC) to make it quieter. The fan has a 3-pin connector, I connected only 12V and ground, ignoring the RPM wire (following the posts mentioned below). However, I made a mistake and connected them in reverse. Neither the UPS nor the fan turn on. I then fixed the polarity, and now the fan runs as it should, but the UPS only displays "UPS Off" and does not start when I press the power button.
Can anything be done about it or have I just killed it? Ideas are much appreciated!

UPS shutdown during a briefly power outage
Hi,
I'm new in the forum and I'm in need of some help trying to figure out an weird issue I had with one of my UPS's.
Yesterday I had a very briefly power outage in my home, one of those that you only detected because the lights briefly flick. During this, one of my UPS's completely shutdown (Salicru SPS One 1100 VA), turning off all the equipment I have connected to it.
Now the most weird part: I have a second UPS (Eaton 5E 1100 VA) in the same division, that is used on other equipment and it perfectly work during the brief power outage.
My first thought was, "Ok, maybe the battery is dead and I didn't know", but after installing the UPS software and doing some tests the battery is working perfectly fine. Either I run the battery test via software or completely unplug the UPS it kicks battery mode and stays on.

Dear All, you you know of a supplier that supplies parts for APC UPSes apart from APC themselves? We have a UPS that needs to have its USB connector port changed. Our official APC certified vendor said that the model is classified as vintage and that other than batteries, no other parts are for sale. Any advice? Eaton ConnectUPS-BD Web/SNMP Card doesnt work
Hi.
I have Eaton ConnectUPS-BD Web/SNMP Card. When this card install into UPS, Status and Power LEDs starts to blink (for several seconds), then they turned off (for 1-2 seconds), and so on.
There is no connection to the Card neither via Network port (with any browser) nor via COM port (via HyperTerminal).
I tried to reset card or played with jumper JP1 - no success.
Looks like a Firmware or Bootloader is damaged.
Is there any Instruction how to repair FW or Bootloader ?

APC Matrix 3000 language change
We recently moved our Matrix 3000 to our new office, and this week the language on the front screen changed from English to another language. Picture is below. It also has a constant beep that we can not seem to turn off.

APC Smart UPS spontaneously losses connection using Powerchute Business(Win10)
Hey everyone.
I purchased APC Smart UPS model SMC1000IC, it is running the latest firmware 4.1 and latest Powerchute business edition 10.
It is a Desktop PC Running Windows 10 64 bit, Gigabyte B450 Aorus pro Motherboard (AMD) and Ryzen 3700x processor (in case someone encountered anything similar).
It works just fine,but then out of nowhere it just shows " UPS Communication Lost ". If I unplug the USB and put it back in it restores connection, sometimes I need to switch to another USB port to restore it. After the problem occurred I tried checking the USB connections using a program called USBDeview, it does show "American Power Conversion USB UPS" as Connected. If I switch back to the native windows HID UPS driver, it does show the battery icon in the Taskbar, and seems to be working. If I switch back to APC UPS driver Powerchute still...

Unable to properly configure composite device
I am not experienced in UPS systems and I seem to have hit a snag. I have pored over the manual and the questions here to no avail.
My setup consists of 2 9SX UPS in a rack which are powered by separate utilities. The master output for these 2 UPS are connected to individual PDUs that distribute power to my machines, only one of which has a redundant power supply (but this machine does not host IPP/IPM due to the OS).
I have IPM running on the other machines and I am able to enable redundancy and create a composite power source. According to the manual, I have selected 'redundant power supplies' as my topology and redundancy level as 1. I have also enabled "redundancy lost", "protection lost", under advanced shutdown configuration. However, after setting the VPS as my power source, i get this message "The source is not composite" under...

Set up UPS with redundant power power supply
Hi all,
I'm not an IT person, just the guy with some knowledge at my small business. I'm in a poor country with a lot of power outage and without verifying I bought a Forza UPS that cannot run on inverter or power generator. I would like your help to figure out, if possible, make this set up:
I have a HP Proliant DL360p Gen8 server with redundant power supply. Can I:
1) Connect one power supply cable to a regular power outlet or surge protector that is energized from grid/inverter/generator. We are looking to add solar panel soon as well. So the server will be running off one of these energy sources. That power supply will be the main power source
2) Second power supply as stand by connected to the UPS which in term is connected to the same circuit but will stay on the battery when the grid is off. I tried it and it runs a full day when...
