We are replacing a UPS system in our server room. It currently runs about 700 - 800 watts. I have always used Eaton or APC in the past, but I connected with an N1C salesmen recently and their battery backup system N1C.L2000 (2kVA, 120V) seems nice, longer run times, expandable, longer warranty, longer battery life. I see no reviews on them though... Has anyone out there in the spiceworld used N1C lithium UPS systems before?

Eaton 9 PX Ki 11kva wont come on when connected to normal ac source
I have an Eaton 9PX ups, of late it gave a no battery message, on starting it showed a 95% charge with 1 EBM detected and then a few seconds later showed that theres no battery message and followed by "check battery". Now it cant come on even when connected to normal ac source. kindly help to solve this problem.

Device to remotely toggle electricity to devices
Hello all,
I have one or two devices in our networking closet which occasionally glitch and need to be unplugged and plugged back in. I'd like to be able to log into something from my desk and toggle the electricity to that device off and on again. Since we're a small business, I can't go and ask for a $5000 enterprise-grade UPS just to save a walk in the rain every now and then, so it has to be relatively affordable. I've done some searching on Amazon, but can't seem to find what I'm looking for. This is in the US.
So to summarize: I want to be able to toggle a 120V/60Hz relay over Ethernet. Any suggestions?

Eaton 5P650IR powers down and cannot be restarted
Last night the UPS was showing normal operation with 100% battery charge and a ~50W load. This morning the display is completely off, no LEDs are on, the output is off, and it does not restart when the front panel buttons are pressed. Disconnecting and reconnecting the battery and mains input does not help. If the battery is connected the fan does spin though so it's not entirely dead, but nothing else turns on.
This is the second time it's happened, and last time it recovered after being left completely unpowered for some time which suggests there's a thermal cutout issue, but the unit does not feel warm at all. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem could be?

Eaton IPP notifications problem

I've just acquired an an Eaton 5P, which I've connected via USB to a Windows 2012 R2 server running IPP as shutdown controller. Another Windows 2012 R2 server runs IPP as a 'slave'. The network the servers are connected to consists of Unifi US-24, US-8, USG3, UCK2 and AC-Lite. Both servers are on the same LAN/VLAN.
The slave IPP reports "The notification reception encountered error" for 'Communication' in the Information and Status panel. The corresponding log error (with the message 'Shutdown agent') states "Unable to subscribe to alarms on '[shutdown controller server]', as the event details.
Nothing I try changing in the power source and shutdown configuration will shift this. However, when I remove mains input, the slave IPP does become aware of this event, and changes from being 'on utility' to reporting minutes to shutdown etc....

Eaton UPS not loading elements after power on
Hi guys. We had a power down on the whole building so after some time, our 2 UPS shutdown too. When the power came back, the 2 UPS turned on. UPS A loaded the elements right away but UPS B didn't load the elements resulting to elements not turning on. I checked both settings of UPS and they're the same. Please help.

Eaton 9355 cannot detect battery. I can read battery voltage on screen.
The UPS cannot see the onboard battery, even though I can use the screen to readout the battery voltage. The error says Battery Breaker open. Any help please?

We have an APC Symmetra LX UPS system in our server room. Last night we started getting alerts with the error

We can communicate with the UPS and remote into the box but keep getting this alert every roughly 3 min non-stop. Its management card is on the latest firmware version. No changes have been made to the UPS. I tried to create an account on Schneider's help forum but it never sends the confirmation email. I tried to Google issues but most referenced different model numbers, or attached serial devices or USBs, or out of date firmware. I'm a bit out of my element as I'm used to your simple rackmount UPS as at my previous company had electricians that handled the larger UPS

got the eaton 5sc 1000i ups and the device firmware is 01.12.0020 i searched to
see if there are updates and the version on the support page is
01.10.0018 so that's an older version?why then is my installed version not listed?
the fan is also noisy and the ups is still charging so im hoping it will stop the fan eventually but its been reporting the battery at 100% charge for a few hours now.
does the fan ever stop?

Eaton 5P Fault log empty
Is there any way to figure out what is logged to the fault log? We have a 5P 650i that has sent several events via RS232, but the fault log is empty. I am trying to understand which events are logged to the fault log accessible on the display on the unit, and if this is in any way customizable? Looking at the "Installation and user manual", which just mentions that the fault log exists, but nothing about what ends up in there.

Constant clicking/tripping on Smart-UPS 1500 unit
Hi All,
Our Fujitsu Smart-UPS 1500 unit decided to trip out on Christmas Day (of all days). I got to the unit on the day and the display panel showed all the lights flashing and it was making a clicking sound. The unit had stopped functioning so all connected devices had powered down. I removed the unit and connect everything directly to the mains.
I've just reconnected the unit and it has stopped clicking. The battery shows 3% but the unit display says connect battery. I presume the battery was charged when it stopped and has slowly discharged over the Christmas break.
Is it worth buying a new battery or just condemning the unit? I intend to replace it anyway but would keep it as a spare unit if the needs arrives.
The device has been on for a good couple of years with a constant 20% load.
Any advise would be appreciated.

Which UPS for Hyper-V?
Hello,
I'm looking at replacing a dumb UPS whose batteries have failed with a network managed UPS.
The UPS purpose is to protect from short outages (a few minutes or local utility power infrastructure fail over events) but must also have the capability to shutdown physical and virtual machines running on Hyper-V (2016 server GUI install) when the batteries charge level reaches a defined threshold.
We are a fairly small shop with 4-5 physical boxes, a couple of firewalls and a a few PoE switches/APs
Existing UPS are 'smart'UPS APC/Schneider, I've been looking at these with the addition of a network management card and I've also been looking at Riello's net managed equipment.
Most of the hardware is fairly comparable so for me what I'm looking for is ease of use and reliability of the management software to determine when to gracefully...

Eaton 5P battery fault error 0x607 (Part II)
Way back in June 2018 I asked a question about my Eaton 5P 650 UPS and the 0x607 battery fault error it was reporting.
It took eighteen months, and it's far too late to update the previous thread, but I finally had a chance to track down the fault properly.
The problem was a failing capacitor - marked on the board as C39. I replaced the cap, put in fresh batteries, updated the firmware, and now the unit is working 100% as good as new again.
I have no idea whether this is a common fault or not, but I wanted to post an update here in case anyone has the same fault and Google sends them here.

Eaton IPP "Full data acquisition has failed"
Ubuntu 16.04 server, Eaton 9PX 1500i RT 2U connected with USB, just installed Eaton IPP.
I can log in to the IPP Web page. Quick scan finds the UPS device, and even gets the serial number right. However the Power Source page reports that "The full data acquisition has failed". What could be the problem?
(The server, and a couple of other machines powered by the UPS are also running nut at this time, but that shouldn't affect anything I suppose?)

Issue with UPS eaton 5E 2000i usb companion software.
Hello everyone, I have an issue with the usb companion software provided by eaton for my UPS 5E 2000i, everything connects and works just fine the issue is that I get a "Navigation to webpage was canceled" when I try to load the software via tray icon, if however I use the localhost page via chrome or firefox, it works just fine...
I'm assuming it's a Internet explorer issue or configuration, but how do I solve it?
I've tried many options on IE and nothing seems to work, I'm out of ideas :(

Eaton IPM 1.67 VA - refresh loop?
Hi,
I have recently installed the IPM 1.67 Virtual Appliance and have been experiencing a problem where once I'm logged in, the web page just keeps on reloading / refreshing every second. In the split-second between refreshes I can click something and the appliance responds so things are ticking over in the background.
The page just greys out with a "Loading..." popup, Making the IPM practically impossible to use or navigate.
I can't find anything that matches my problem but the closest was the "could not update data" issue. Which I also had back in 1.4x (Win version) of IPM.
I have tried deselecting auto discovery with no effect, keeps refreshing.
I have also deleted all nodes so the list is empty now, also no effect, it still keeps refreshing.
Anyone has any ideas? Anyone from Eaton?

APC UPS Spec
We have just placed an order for a new server, and I am looking to spec a UPS to go with it. Everyone I have chatted to offline has recommended APC, so I have decided to go with them. (We also have APC units on our 2x existing servers.)
What I am unclear about is how to calculate the spec that we need.
The server that we have ordered is a Dell T440. I can get more info about it if required. Just let me know what is required.
I'd value some recommendations of APC products, and even more than that the calculations to get to the products, so that I can learn for next time. Thanks in advance.

Adapter for PDU input cable to fit into a new UPS
Hi Spiceworks,
I have two APC AP8870 PDUs that currently hook into a Symmetra LX unit. I need to remove the Symmetra and install a different unit, a Tripp-Lite. The plug on the PDUs is an L14-30 plug. I would like to use this adapterso I can plug them into the L6-30 outlets on the Tripp-Lite UPS.
Will this work? Will I run into any issues? Not is not my forte so any input here would be helpful.
