Hello,
Currently we have three 1000w battery backups, but they only provide around 16 minutes of backup power.
We're looking to extend this out to 45 minutes and I've already checked the models; we cannot add expansion batteries. So we're looking to replace them with something that'll do.
Looking at the units, one is using 500w, and another doesn't have a readout just a gauge that is completely empty and one that is completely full. So by my estimation we'd need at least 1500w but I'm thinking we should probably go for at least 2000. This means we'd either need two 1500w units or get an electrician to run a 30 amp line to the server room.
What have you guys done in similar situations? I'm kind thinking maybe the two separate units might be a nice touch just for the "redundancy" it introduces. The costs are more known, since you're just buying equipment and not labor.
What brands/models would you recommend? I've been looking at APC Smart-UPS X 1500VA Rack/Tower LCD 120V with Network Card and then some external batteries • SMX48RMBP2U to extend the runtime.
I was also given an option by Liebert,
• PS1500RT3-120XR -1500 VA/1350 Watts
• PSRT3-24VBXR -Extended Battery Cabinet for 1000, 1500 VA models
• IS-WEBRT3 -Network Card
but I'm not familiar with them at all. Any other recommendations? I was thinking about Eaton but I have really no bias one way or the other as long as they work good and have good.
Thanks everyone!
