Hi all,
We have 2 3000VA UPS's (w/ addtl battery stacks) that support our critical infrastructure and servers. Runtime is estimated at 1hr30min. These UPS's frequently (2-10 times a month) report either low voltage or distorted input and switch to battery for less than a minute (maybe just seconds) and then switch right back. Everything behind the UPS's appears fine, never loses power.
The problem is we have 3 BladeCenters, each with Power Supplies totaling 10,000W. These are processing machines that work on tasks that take between 5min and 2hr typically. So, historically we have just always accepted the risk of lost processing if a power outage occurred. No data would be lost, but tasks would have to be restarted. And this is still our stance for actual power outages. But we would like to bridge these small windows of low...
