Hi all. Our 10 year old UPS has a faulty module and due to its age, it's cheaper to replace the whole unit. We're after a kva level unit, so a bit of serious kit.
The pros are that new tech means better battery life and many other positives.
The cons are that I've never had to delve into UPS devices previously, so it's been one heck of a learning experience.
We're down to 3 vendors, offering the following UPS brands.
Liebert ITA (10kva) - run time = 2 hours
Centurion RTA3000va (2x 3kva units) - run time = 1h 45m
Eaton 9155 (8kva) - run time = 45m
We need this UPS so that we can switch our DR\Testing gear off properly in the event of a power outage. We also need it to power our VOIP phone system so that if the power goes out, staff have time to ring who they need to and IT have time to put any redirections in place.
As I'm completely unfamiliar with the brands, do any of these raise any flags with anyone?
Any feedback you can provide is greatly appreciated. I'm certain that one has already priced itself out of the race, the Eaton (and the run time is low).
