It just wouldn't be a Monday without something going horribly wrong.

So I've moved all my equipment over the summer to its own little room at the back of my office. Now everything is nice and quiet and the servers are nice and cool and contained. (no more cardboard ventilation to the attic) I go back to retrieve a power strip that I used while transferring the running (no downtime allowed for major equipment move) servers to the new location. Apparently my UPS data cable had gotten unplugged or never connected, huh. No biggie just plug it in and check that its communication with the server is good. It is so I go home it is Friday after all and the last 4 weeks have been about 62 hours each.

Come in Monday and I see that there is an extended over-voltage email in my inbox. Nice to know that the email notifications are working again, not nice to see that we are running in the 135VAC range but when things start running during the peak hours our voltage drops down to 120VAC.

Course to add to this i now have alarms going off in the server room because the UPS is in need of replaceing.

.

So where is your voltage tolerance and whats the span from high to low. I would think that a 15 volt difference is severe but in practice i have nothing to compare it to.
