I have the opportunity to re-wire the power distribution on our server room. Which is in desperate need of some TLC.
I have a decent enough 10kva APC Smart UPS with 3x 10amp feeds coming off it. The problem is that these separate feeds go off into a maze of cabling and some come out in PDUs, some plug into other daisy chained PDUs (one even plugs into another UPS which then has load on it) etc, etc.
We have a new Comms Room with a couple of PoE switches and lots of patching, which I want to connect back into this UPS. This is on another floor in our building. I am currently at 60% capacity on the UPS so this in theory shouldn't be a problem.
So what I want to do is basically turn it all off, remove the crazy cabling and connect everything up correctly and logically.
