I've got two very old Battery Backup UPS's that are going on their 12th year in service and I've been stressing the need to replace them, The business owners are unwilling to replace them at this time despite the fact we could replace them for under 5 grand, which we would gain reliability, and some nicer management/notification features, yet they've had no issue with purchasing new servers for virtualization (although they don't seem to want to spend the money for HA and VMotion Licensing, although that's fairly expensive so i'm not too shocked by this.)
Am I wrong in pressing this issue? or should I go about it another way? Right now the primary seems to be going strong but the other will randomly just start discharging the battery or turn off for what ever reason, management software gives no real clues as to why, and I replaced the batteries about 2 weeks ago.
Is anyone else running UPS's that are near this age or older that feel no need to replace them?
