UPS log shows no errors but Spiceworks does

I installed the latest version of spiceworks and it's reporting alerts for our ups that are not showing up in the ups log.

Specifically, it's showing that the "UPS device needs replacement" and that the "UPS battery needs replacement".

The UPS is a APC Smart-ups RT 5000VA 208V w/ the step-down transformer and the network management card installed. It has one external battery pack connected.

I replaced the internal and external batteries on July 26, 2013 because prior to that I was getting emails from the UPS stating that the "batteries were discharged" and "battery power is low and will soon be exhausted." I am no longer getting those emails.

The only led on the front of the ups that's illuminated is the one that indicates it's on power.

I've checked the notification settings and all events are set to be logged and a notification email sent.

I called APC's technical support and they've requested I perform a manual calibration. That's going to have to wait until I can take the servers offline this weekend, but one thing the tech did mention is that the number under the Vbat column in the data log should be higher than the 53.xx number that it's showing.

Does anyone have any advice or insight?
