I've read quite a few previous threads regarding UPS sizing (thank you all) and I've dropped over to a couple of vendor websites to check out their sizing tools.
The APC sizing site seems to want to trot out all its big ponies for my "solution"... it seems far more than I need. Thus, I want to make sure my understanding of UPS sizing terminology is correct.
I've got two Dell PE T110-II's, a single monitor, two unmanaged D-Link 24 port switches, a Netgear firewall (10 watts) and a Comcast SMC cable modem (apparently about 12 watts). Sticking all this into the APC sizing calculator results in a report that says this about 480 watts total max load.
Now, since this is an inductive load I use a power factor of about 1.5 to determine inductive load which comes out roughly to 720 VA. So, it seems to me that if I select a UPS with 1000 VA or...
