Eaton. I am not impressed.

We've started on major UPS replacement program, swapping APC for Eaton across many sites.

I've just hit an issue testing an 5PX1500 - disconnect input, reconnect, UPS claims "Capacitive overload". and shuts down. It cannot be restarted via network, only after OKing the error on the front panel (which can take a few attempts). Load was 20% of capacity, ie light, and no unusual load types attached, ie just your typical switches, routers, etc, and Dell R620 server. (Actually half of each, as they're all dual PSU, with the other PSU being supplied via an APC UPS).

There is no indication of this specific error in the logs. The UPS can be switched on manually, though it may take a few attempts. It will not switch on remotely, presumably because the error dialogue if blocking it. Most of our UPS systems are at remote sites, where there are no...
