Hi,
I have two questions about the correct way to configure servers to gracefully shutdown in case of a [long] power outage...
a. How do you make an ESXi server to gracefully shutdown?
I know in a small Hyper-V environment you connect the UPS to the server with a USB cable, and you install the vender's software (basically a small program with a simple GUI) and set it to gracefully shutdown the server if the UPS battery is running lower then 50% (for example).
My question is how do you set an ESXi server to gracefully shutdown? Do the vendors have a software for ESXi hosts as well?
b. From what I ran in to in small businesses that have 2-3 Hyper-V host servers, you can configure ONE SERVER to gracefully shutdown with each UPS.
Meaning, if you have 3 servers connected to 1 UPS - only one can gracefully shutdown...
My question is is it possible...
