Suggestions for UPS configuration.

Hello everyone,

My current workplace has an old APC UPS. Since then we have had the servers replaced and an additional server installed. I did point out on numerous occasions that the UPS was under-powered and wouldn't cope if we had an outage.

Managements response was along the lines of "It will be fine. You can sort it."

Surprise, Surprise. We had an outage that was long enough to cut the power to all the servers, causing an SQL database, and a couple of email accounts to become corrupted.

Anyway I have now been told to replace the UPS, so my question is...

Whats the best/cheapest way to do it?

Do I get one big unit , or would smaller individual UPS units be a more cost effective solution?

I know of APC, but has anyone had experience with any other UPS manufacturers which may do cheaper units?

Thanks in advance guys/gals

Rik
