PowerChute Network shutdown setup for EMC VNXe3200

Setting up a couple of APC UPS to automatically shutdown my servers in the event of a power failure.  The setup includes a redundant pair of APC SRT6XLT.  The servers are VMware ESX 6 hosts and storage is a pair of EMC VNXe3200.  I also setup a Virtual appliance for the PowerChute Network Shutdown which will gracefully shutdown my VMware  VM and host.  What I don't know for sure is if I need to also power down the EMC VNXe or not.  If I don't, will it cause any damage?   If I need to power it down, how do I go about this?  I think I read somewhere that I can use the EMC CLI  command " uemcli -d -u service -p /service/system shutdown" to power the VNXe but still not too clear how I could do that.

Thanks for any advise.
Regards
Vince
