PDU's and power architecture

Well, had an incident today that took down two servers, nothing makes you rethink the PDU layout and overall power architecture more when your praying an Oracle server and VMware host bootsback. So whats your thoughts on ATS PDUs from Tripp Lite or Eaton? I'm open to APC, but have read enough in the BAD column to NOT put them in the running and cyberpower has no reviews so I don't know if they should be considered. My first choice is Eaton as Tripp Lite had PDU issues a few years back and build quality is ho hum. I'm I missing anyone worth looking at?

Also, whats your power architecture, do you run Maintenance Bypass switches for the UPS or PDUs? I've just started at a new job and while they are running dual input PDUs, they are not ATS units so one color plug will lose power when the corresponding color input plug loses power. This is...
