One location I support uses a number of the older APC Back-UPS ES 550 units. Those have a network type jack, and a cable that converts that RJ45 (presumably) to usb.
Two HP thin clients are connected to units like this and one of those same APC ups units is also powering an actual PC.
I am not sure how to test the ups' that are connected to the thin clients. We use the personal APC powerchute software on site but it seems to be intended for installation on a single pc. The thin clients can't take advantage of that kind of software. I was hoping that APC offers some network smart version of powerchute that would audit and report on the various apc units that are on site and connected via usb. The cyberpower ups have software that do that. But I can't find anything like that for APC.
One of the UPS' is giving intermittent beeps, probably...
