So I thought I would throw this out and there and see what suggestions you guys have on this.
I have a satellite office with only minimal staff. The only equipment in the server room there is a switch, a slave PBX, and the firewall. That's all; so just minimal power requirements.
Now the issue is, the region it is in has abysmal power service. Brownouts and surges are practically daily. Also, the power will go out fairly often as well and the power company will just throw the switch ON after an outage and power up the whole grid instantly. Like a light switch pretty much. I have had IT guys from there tell me stories of completely melted UPSs; they walk into the server room and the UPS is a blob of gooey plastic on the floor. They also tell me not to expect anymore than 1 year out of a UPS either. And that is coming from several...
