Has anyone heard of something like an inline power cord UPS? Although UPS is probably a strong word for this... maybe short term power maintaining cord better describes it.
What I mean by that is a single input, single output, 1 foot long or less cord, basically a small extension cord that has some capacity to hold power built in?
The reason I ask is that from time to time a situation comes up where a device that does not have redundant power supplies needs to be moved from one outlet to another and it would be nice to not have to power that device down. A core router or internet modem for example.
What I'm calling an inline UPS would probably not have a battery, but rather just a large capacitor that would be capable of maintaining power for all of 15-30 seconds. Just enough to hold most small network devices for the time needed to move...
