For many years I have a APC ups model sua2200rmi2u including the network card running with a load of approx. 600 Watts (a Workstation and some accessories). After the 2 weekly self-test schedule the ups shut down immediately with an overload error. I thought ohh well time to replace the 1 year old batteries as runtime was also short. With the new batteries the error persists and now it gets strange.
- I can hook up to 1 kW of different loads (incandescent light bulbs, amplifiers, other pcs) and the unit passes the self test or powers it from battery, when I pull the line cord.
- I can hook up my Workstation and the load is around 30%. As soon as it runs on battery it reports an instant overload and shuts down. Now it gets weirder:
- When I hook up my workstation with the PSU switch turned off! and nothing else (in other words 0%...
