This is just not the week for battery backups.

Had a battery backup fail at a small business. Caused corruption to the their Filemaker database (as just about any non perfect shutdown can). Backups restored, but they had to re-enter data from earlier in the day.

Replaced UPS. New UPS running for a few days.. BOOM died last night. No alerts, no shutdowns, and interestingly enough no data logged after a certain time until the next day until it had its battery pulled, power removed and battery and power reconnected. (That didn't fix the issue, unit is going back as it's in an error state.) Everything was off this morning when they came in. Removed everything from that UPS and it all came back just fine except one server where apparently the outage managed to take out the Perc H730. Which server? The Filemaker server, because of course it was. Yay backups with increased frequency after...
