UPS for Server Rack

I'm starting to look at replacing our 2 x APC Smart UPS 2200VA for our server rack. They are now 10 years old and due for another battery replacement or entire replacement.

They are monitored via USB and I would like to move this to network.

The load on both UPSs has reduced and they are both running at 2.3 Amps at 230V, primarily due to the move to VMs and newer equipment. All devices have 2 power supplies (except switches) and have a cable connected to each UPS.

I estimate the required VA per UPS at 1500-2000, the runtime target is 10 minutes but we have a generator that kicks in before 30 seconds.

Thank you in advance for your thoughts.

My real questions is:

  • Are APC really still superior or should Eaton be considered?

Two models I've looking at are:

  • APC Smart-UPS 2200VA LCD RM 2U 230V with Network Card ( SMT2200RMI2UNC )
  • Eaton 5PX 1.35 kW...
