Hi,
I'm new with the world of UPS, and I need to replace the one we have(or change battery).
We actually have a Symettra RM 6000, with 2 battery and 2 power modules.
But, I would like to understand what is doing power module in the UPS.
Which is connected by a 230A to a something(sorry, i can't even find what it is...) which provide multiple 15A plug. And in this module are plugged our server, switch, etc...
The only thing i know about this unit is it's an apc...
But, I would like to understand what is doing power module.
I don't want to do a complete change of the UPS if it's something useful I should keep.
Also, i would like to get your opinion about changing the UPS or only replacing the battery.
Because those battery seem to cost more than a new UPS.
My actual battery: https://www.cdw.ca/shop/products/APC-UPS-1.4-kW-2000-VA/600213.aspx?enkwrd=ALLPROD%3a%7csypm2ku%7cAl...
And this Eaton UPS:https://www.cdw.ca/shop/products/Eaton-5P-3000-VA-120V-Rack-Tower-2U-UPS-2.7-kW-3000-VA-lead-acid/29...
The APC would cost 70$ most than the Eaton, for less power(I think, if you can refute/confirm)
With Eaton i would get a 3years warranty instead of 2.
I would have more KW and VA.
And i would save 1U in my rack because i wouldn't need anymore the "something" i couldn't name.
So, should i buy 2 replacement battery for my symettra or buy 2 Eaton-5P-3000?
And i forgot, we also have a second symettra Rm 6000 with the same configuration, but this one is working well for now.
Your help is really appreciated. If you have any proposition/comments/reaction/rectification, please fell free to do, I'm here to learn. I might have said something wrong or do bad search since it's my first research about battery backup.
EDIT: My input for my symmettra is a L5-30A, I think. And I cannot use something else that this plug.
