Basic UPS Questions

Hi All,

I am wondering if you can help me with some UPS questions?

I am looking to replace / upgrade some UPS equipment we have.

1. I am unsure if when calculating load, if the power provided or the power consumption should be used. e.g. some of the equipment we have are dell r630 servers with dual redundant 750W power supplies, however the server has around 350 watts at full load. Should i be using 750 or 350 in my calculations?

2. We have only one feed of power to the room at present, should i be splitting the load across two UPS devices or one larger one?

3. We would require the UPS devices to shutdown the equipment gracefully e.g. vsphere vm's, can anyone advise on whats required here, from research it looks like APC power connect might be the way although i am open to other manufacturers?
