We have 2 APC Backup XS1500 devices in our server room.
We connect 2 windows servers ( 2003 & 2008 )to each one of them.
APC has a software called "PowerChute " which can be installed on the windows operating system which allows us to shutdown the server automatically if the battery falls below certain time.
We used this PowerChute software 9 years ago on one of our windows server and we had
some conflicts between powerchute software + windows operating system. Conflicts like whenever there is any update to powerchute software it would either knock the server off or do some weird things. From that time onwards we never installed this software on any of our windows server.
Just wanted to check if this software is all stable now or not.
Does everyone who use APC battery for there servers install the APC powerchute software ?
Any other suggestions and recommendations is appreciated.
