Tripp Lite UPS will not stay on when on battery.

Hello ! I cant seem to find anytime about the UPS not staying on, v. not powering on at all. I've tried cycling it by holding the button, it beeps and then shutsoff once the button has been released. Would faulty batteries cause this?
