Hello all,
Inspected an Eaton 5P 850G UPS due to a battery fault error. The old SLA units were very hot, with warped casings and all. I immediately removed the batteries, and replaced with equivalent batteries from a local vendor. 2 x 12 V / 7 AH / F2 terminals.
Replacement was a piece of cake. Got the UPS to run a test on the new, fully charged batteries, and it cleared the battery fault. It was a very straight-forward process!
Unfortunately, the UPS is now showing an "End Of Battery Life" notification. It apparently has an internal counter, and I didn't find how to reset this with the on-screen menus. It does not appear to be connected to a network.
Is there a way to clear this notification?
We had a local vendor that quoted us nearly $2,000 to 'replace the unit'. It looks to have just needed batteries, and appears to be otherwise...
