One of the more popular topics in the world of UPS systems is software to gracefully shutdown an operating system. Many already know that vendors provide solutions for this (e.g. we have PowerAlert Local and PowerAlert Network Shutdown Agent), but it isn't unheard of for IT Pros to need something beyond what the vendor provides or just prefer to use native operating system or open source tools.
Since it comes up in the community and many of you have experience on the topic, I figured this would be a useful question to ask and it can benefit people looking for a solution in the future.
What UPS monitoring software do you use for graceful operating system shutdown?
